Wenergy Launches Green Energy Storage Project in Thailand, Partnering with TCE to Drive Clean Energy Future

Chiang Mai, Thailand – September 5, 2025 – Wenergy, a leader in energy storage solutions, is proud to announce the successful launch of its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In partnership with local collaborator TCE, this milestone marks a significant step forward in advancing Thailand’s transition to clean, sustainable energy.

Beyond a Project: A Perfect Match of Technology and Local Needs

At the heart of the project site, rows of liquid-cooled energy storage cabinets are precisely arranged, with intelligent systems providing real-time monitoring of their operation. As Wenergy’s flagship BESS demonstration project in northern Thailand, this initiative goes beyond simply supplying electricity—it’s a tailored response to the region’s unique energy needs.

Tana Pong, General Manager of TCE, emphasized the strong partnership with Wenergy during the launch event: “We evaluated numerous energy storage brands from various countries, but we chose Wenergy not only for their technological strength but also for their willingness to listen and adapt to local needs.”

On the technology front, Wenergy’s energy storage cabinets are equipped with cutting-edge iBMS and iEMS intelligent systems, ensuring precise battery management and real-time monitoring. With Thailand’s hot and humid climate in mind, the system is designed with an IP55 protection rating to withstand heavy rainfall during the monsoon season, complemented by C4H-grade corrosion-resistant coatings to endure salt mist corrosion in coastal areas. With a design lifespan of over 15 years, these systems are built for long-lasting stability and reliability in Thailand’s complex environmental conditions.

More than a Project: Partners in Clean Energy Transformation

Wenergy offers advanced intelligent energy storage systems, while TCE brings deep local market insights and expertise. Together, they are addressing Thailand’s unique energy challenges, including high electricity costs, grid stability, and the integration of renewable energy sources. Wenergy’s Regional Manager for Thailand, Long Chengju, shared key technical insights and real-world case studies that showcase the effectiveness of their solutions.

TCE, a leader in Thailand’s electrical engineering sector with over 10 years of experience, specializes in consulting, design, equipment installation, and problem-solving. The company’s team of experts completed the complex grid connection tests in a short timeframe, ensuring the system operates smoothly and meets local energy storage requirements.

This collaboration between Wenergy and TCE represents more than just a business partnership—it marks the beginning of a deeper, long-term relationship as energy allies, moving towards collaborative innovation in the energy storage field.

More than a Project: A Symbiotic Market Growth

The launch event also featured a lively discussion on Thailand’s energy landscape and the potential of green energy storage technologies, with representatives from government, academia, and finance sectors in attendance. The Director of the Northern Region of the National Electricity Authority of Thailand remarked, “The ‘international technology + local service’ model is exactly what Thailand’s energy transition needs.” With Thailand’s plan to increase renewable energy share to 30% by 2037, the northern region alone will require an additional 5GWh of energy storage capacity, presenting tremendous market potential.

The successful launch of this BESS project is a key milestone in Wenergy’s expansion in Thailand. Looking ahead, Wenergy and TCE will continue to strengthen their collaboration, bringing more innovative technologies to Thailand and Southeast Asia, and jointly creating a green, smart, and sustainable energy future.
