Wenergy Ships 10MW / 20MWh BESS to Zambia for Microgrid Expansion

Wenergy’s 10MW / 20MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is currently in transit to Zambia, supporting Phase II of an ongoing hybrid microgrid project in Africa. The system will be deployed as part of a solar + storage + diesel solution designed to power large-scale mining operations.

Following the successful implementation of Phase I, this next-stage deployment will further strengthen energy reliability in regions with limited grid stability. By integrating energy storage with photovoltaic generation and diesel backup, the project enables optimized energy management, improved system efficiency, and enhanced operational continuity.

Once commissioned, the BESS will help increase renewable energy utilization while reducing reliance on diesel generation, contributing to lower fuel consumption and operating costs. The solution is tailored to meet the high energy demands of the mining sector, where stable and uninterrupted power supply is essential.

This shipment highlights Wenergy’s continued progress in delivering scalable, industrial-grade energy storage solutions and reinforces its commitment to supporting resilient and sustainable power infrastructure across Africa.
