Wenergy has delivered two Stars Series 289 kWh ESS Cabinets in Germany. By storing electricity and making it available at the right time, the battery systems provide flexibility to respond to changing energy market conditions and optimize charging and discharging strategies.

Solution Highlights

• Energy trading: The BESS is deployed primarily for energy market participation, enabling stored electricity to be charged and discharged according to market conditions.
• EMS-based control: The complete charging and discharging strategy is managed through the customer’s own Energy Management System (EMS), which determines when the batteries should charge or discharge based on the selected trading strategy.
• Flexible battery operation: Intelligent control enables the storage systems to respond to market opportunities while maintaining operational flexibility.

Customer Value

The project demonstrates how commercial battery energy storage can be used as a flexible asset for energy trading. Rather than simply providing storage capacity, the BESS enables controlled charging and discharging based on market conditions and a defined energy trading strategy. With EMS-driven operation, the system provides greater control over battery dispatch and enables the available power and storage capacity to be leveraged more effectively in the energy market.
