A berry-growing operation in the Netherlands has deployed Stars Series 289 kWh ESS Cabinet alongside a new solar PV system installed on its cold storage facility. Cooling fresh berries is highly energy-intensive, particularly during the summer months. When the refrigeration and irrigation systems operate simultaneously, the resulting high demand peaks can increase electricity costs and place additional strain on the site’s grid connection. By integrating solar PV with battery energy storage, the project enables the facility to make better use of its own renewable electricity while managing peak demand.
