Kyiv, Ukraine, October 13, 2026 — As the European energy transition accelerates, energy security and grid resilience have become immediate priorities rather than long-term goals. In Ukraine, where grid interruptions have become an ongoing operational challenge, demand for distributed energy storage solutions continues to grow.
At EcoEnergy Expo 2026, Wenergy took the stage under the theme “Power Where Ukraine Needs It Most.” Here is a deep dive into how Wenergy’s full-scenario ESS solutions — mobile energy storage systems, C&I storage, and PV-plus-storage integration — are empowering local businesses, infrastructure, and communities.
Mobile BESS: Flexible Power for Emergency Backup and Off-Grid Applications
European Battery Market Outlook 2026-2030
According to SolarPower Europe, Ukraine added nearly 3 GWh of battery storage in 2025, ranking among Europe’s five largest battery storage markets. Beyond adding storage capacity, Ukraine needs more flexible ways to deliver power, making mobile BESS a valuable option for emergency backup and locations with limited fixed power infrastructure.
Wenergy’s Turtle M Series Mobile ESS redefines flexible power supply by integrating battery, PCS, and thermal management into a single trailer-mounted platform. Available in 3 configurations: 500kW/964kWh, 750kW/1446kWh, and 1000kW/1929kWh, the Turtle M Series serves as an agile energy asset:
-
Collaborative Multi-Unit Operation: Enables real-time energy replenishment and synchronized parallel load supply across multiple units, providing uninterrupted, continuous power for extended missions.
-
Flexible AC/DC Charging Capacity: Supports AC 400V grid/load output along with multiple DC fast-charging connectors (flexible power allocation up to 240kW per connector), ideal for both emergency power supply and temporary high-power EV fleet charging.
-
Grid-Forming PCS & Liquid Cooling: Equipped with grid-forming PCS to construct stable voltage and frequency independently in off-grid or islanded environments, coupled with automotive-grade liquid cooling for superior thermal stability.
-
Independent Cluster Control & Fault Isolation: Modular battery management isolates faults at the cluster level, preventing single-cluster anomalies from impacting overall system availability.
C&I Energy Storage: Protecting Business Continuity
Demand for energy independence is also growing among Ukrainian businesses. Oschadbank has financed 1,640 energy projects for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, totaling UAH 3.6 billion, as more businesses turn to battery storage and integrated solar-plus-storage systems.
Meeting these needs requires solutions tailored to different site conditions — from integrated containerized systems for power continuity and multi-source integration to compact, liquid-cooled cabinets for distributed C&I applications. At EcoEnergy Expo 2026, Wenergy showcased two solutions to meet these requirements: the Turtle CL2.5 Containerized BESS and the Stars CL261 Liquid-cooled Cabinet ESS.
Turtle CL2.5 Series Containerized BESS
ال Turtle CL2.5 integrates battery storage, PCS, ATS, circuit breakers, and an isolation transformer into a standard 20-foot container, delivering 2.5MWh of energy storage capacity. Designed for applications requiring coordinated power management, the system supports integration with the grid, photovoltaic inverters, and diesel generators.
- Millisecond-level source switching: The EQS fast-switching switch supports rapid transitions among the grid, battery storage, PV inverters, and diesel generators.
- Multi-source integration: Reserved interfaces support flexible system configurations for different site requirements.
- Robust load capability: Supports 1.1× continuous overload, 1.2× surge loads for 60 seconds, and 100% three-phase load imbalance.
- Advanced thermal and safety management: Intelligent liquid cooling supports operation from -25°C to 55°C, while multi-layer fire protection and C4H corrosion resistance support demanding outdoor environments.
Stars CL261 Liquid-Cooled C&I ESS Cabinet
Designed for distributed C&I applications, the Stars CL261 liquid-cooled ESS cabinet combines a highly integrated design with intelligent thermal management and modular maintenance.
- Compact Footprint & High Efficiency: All-in-one integration reduces installation footprint by 36% with ≥90% RTE and 8,000+ cycle life.
- Smart Liquid Cooling with Auto-Refill: Intelligent liquid cooling with automatic coolant replenishment reduces operational and maintenance (O&M) costs by up to 40% compared to traditional air-cooled systems.
- Ultra-Quiet Operation: Offers a specialized Low-Noise version ≤60 dB during daytime, as low as 45 dB at night, making it ideal for noise-sensitive sites such as hospitals, schools, and commercial office complexes.
- Enhanced System Stability: Features an AC/DC dual auxiliary power supply to boost system operational stability by 30%, complemented by multi-tier active/passive fire protection and remote OTA maintenance.
Solar + Storage: Turning Renewable Generation into Usable Power
Ukraine has significant solar energy potential, but making the most of it remains a challenge. Grid constraints and power interruptions can limit solar energy utilization and disrupt business operations, making energy storage an important part of a more resilient energy system.
Wenergy’s integrated solar-plus-storage solutions coordinate PV inverters, battery storage, switching equipment, and energy management software. Excess solar generation can be stored for later use, while islanded operation and diesel generation, where required, provide additional flexibility during grid interruptions. The systems can be deployed in new installations or integrated into existing PV systems.
Wenergy’s projects in Ukraine put this approach into practice, with solutions tailored to the energy needs of industrial manufacturing sites and logistics parks.
# Case 1: Integrating Solar, Storage and Backup Power at a Logistics Park
At a logistics park in Eastern Europe, Wenergy’s 2.5MW/5.16MWh ESS works alongside 380kWp of rooftop solar PV and two 550kVA diesel generators to create a more flexible and resilient energy system.
The solution combines 20 Stars Series 258kWh liquid-cooled ESS cabinets with intelligent energy management across three grid connection points. By storing surplus solar power, providing backup needs, and enabling energy arbitrage, the system helps the site make better use of renewable energy while improving power reliability and controlling electricity costs.
#Case 2: PV + ESS for More Resilient Industrial Operations
Wenergy’s 5MW/20MWh BESS project is progressing toward delivery, bringing together solar PV and battery storage to support reliable, cost-efficient energy management at an industrial manufacturing site in Eastern Europe.
By storing excess solar generation and shifting energy use to more cost-effective periods, the integrated system helps reduce grid dependency and optimize energy costs. With liquid-cooled batteries and integrated PCS architecture, it also supports zero-second switching and at least four hours of backup power, helping protect critical production lines from grid disruptions.
Global Track Record, Local Commitment
At EcoEnergy Expo 2026, Wenergy’s booth welcomed a steady stream of local visitors and partners, creating opportunities for productive discussions and new cooperation agreements.
With over 100 MWh of energy storage capacity deployed in Ukraine and more than 1,000 C&I ESS projects worldwide, Wenergy continues to build on its project experience and partnerships across the region.
Looking ahead, Wenergy will continue working with local partners to deliver tailored energy storage solutions and support Ukraine’s energy resilience.
One returning customer, following previous cooperation on the Stars CL258Pro, plans to continue the partnership with the planned deployment of 20 Stars CL261Pro cabinets
