Project Overview
- Location: Hoogeveen, Netherlands
- Scale: 60 kW / 192 kWh
- Application: Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Energy Storage
As electricity demand continues to grow, many hospitality businesses are reaching the limits of their existing grid connections. At Paviljoen Nijstad, the goal was to increase energy flexibility and reduce operating costs without upgrading the grid connection.
Solution Highlights
A 60 kW / 192 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) was deployed to support the facility’s daily energy management. The system performs peak shaving, using stored energy to cover periods of high electricity demand and keep the site’s power consumption within its existing grid connection capacity. In addition, the solar PV system is connected directly to the battery through MPPT, allowing solar energy to be stored with lower conversion losses before being used when needed.
Customer Value
By combining peak shaving with direct solar energy storage, the solution enables greater energy independence, improves the utilization of on-site renewable energy, and avoids the need for a grid connection upgrade—delivering a smarter and more efficient energy solution for commercial facilities.
